A press release will go out shortly lifting the health advisory on upper and lower Twin Lakes. Microcystin toxin analysis from samples taken at 5 beach sites (3 in the lower lake and 1 in the upper lake) was well below the EPA recommended recreational advisory. The advisory remains in effect for the channel between the two lakes, where toxins are still quite high (64.2 ug/L in a scum sample at the boat launch in the channel). The health advisory remains in effect for Fernan Lake as well, where toxins continue to be very high.
