Come Experience Nature
Memories stay with us through life. When you think back on the days of your youth — what comes to mind? Do thoughts of sitting in front of the TV or Computer bring pleasant memories? Probably not. Or… do you remember exploring through forests or fields, catching frogs and bugs, or sneaking a peak at a bird’s nest or a squirrel eating nuts. Well, these same wonderful discoveries can be future memories for your child or grandchild. The Kootenai Environmental Alliance (KEA) is hosting several Idaho Discoveries Nature Camps in Coeur d’Alene this summer with the theme – “Meet the Mammals”.
There are day camps for age groups from 4 years to 10 years old. The campers will spend time in a forest and a field and a wetlands habitat. They will have fun watching the animals in the area, trying their hand at fishing, and catching insects and possibly finding reptiles and small mammals. Nature inspired artwork, journaling, games and crafts will also capture the uniqueness of their outdoor adventures.
The location for the Idaho Discoveries Nature Camps features acres of forest land and fields with 2 ponds and a seasonal creek running through the middle of the property. An old barn will be the gathering place for sharing time and discussions of their experiences. Snacks will be provided in the afternoon. For more information, check out the Kootenai Environmental Alliance website and make plans to sign up for the great outdoors. There is a fee to attend, but a few scholarships may be available. Each session has a limited number of spaces.
Snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon. Campers need to bring a sack lunch.
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR IDAHO DISCOVERIES SUMMER CAMP
